A bond referendum was passed by residents to fund improvements and expand recreational opprotunities in Henrico County.  A portion of those funds was designated for the construction of a new concessions and restroom facility in Dorey Park on the eastern side of the county.  The facility is designed to support the day-to-day activities of the recreational football league’s coaches, players, and families as well as the larger community.

The new building is carefully sited along the existing tree line and offers upgraded parking.  The building includes full kitchen concessions, athletic equipment distribution and storage space, and a team apparel sales counter.  Clerestory windows provide natural light to the interior.

Amenities also include expanded restroom facilities.  These restrooms support the current needs of the football field, overflow capacity of larger public events celebrated in Dorey Park throughout the year, and the planned future expansion of adjacent multipurpose fields.  In addition, this facility is the first on the Dorey Park complex to include an All Gender restroom.

By using Building Information Modeling (BIM) during the design process, we were able to help our client visualize the building before it was constructed.
