The aesthetic character of this octagonal-shaped building was developed in context with the older, classic pavilions located in other parts of the park. It provides a permanent structure to facilitate space food and snack concessions as well as space for public restrooms, a maintenance area, and storage for a small mobile cart. Tickets for paddleboat rides can also be purchased from this location.
The design incorporated several sustainable design strategies including natural day lighting, passive ventilation, cool roof shingle technology, low water consumption plumbing systems and locally sourced materials.
