This field house supports the sports teams of the 1,700-student Deep Run High School, providing much needed locker facilities as well as a large training room with exercise equipment and free weights. The client requested the facility fit well into the design context of the existing high school campus. Therefore, similar exterior materials, sloping roof forms and detailing were used to afford a seamless integration into its surroundings. Though the building is located on a constrained site, closely bounded by an existing concession building, baseball fields and a running track, the design still allows for the future addition of two more locker rooms that were not able to be included in the initial construction effort.
